Bio

Camillo Boano, B.Arch, MSc (Polytechnic of Turin), MSc (Loughborough), PhD (Oxford-Brookes)

Camillo Boano has several years' experience as an architect and urban planner conducting research, policy advice and teaching. His work and research interests are particularly focused on urban development, design and urban transformations, shelter and housing interventions, reconstruction and recovery in conflicted areas and divided cities, architecture and planning in contested spaces, linking emergency and development.

He has extensive experience in both natural and complex political emergencies, with specific focus on forced migrants and IDPs especially in the shelter and housing sector, with international organisations and International Agencies in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Venezuela, Salvador, Occupied Territories, Lebanon, Jordan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

He is also an associate lecturer and researcher in the Department of Planning, Oxford Brookes University, senior researcher at the WHRU (World Habitat Research Unit) at SUPSI in Lugano (Switzerland) and visiting lecturer at the University of Bologna and Polytechnic of Turin (Italy).
