Alberto Toscano is a lecturer in sociology and a member of the Centre for the Study of Invention and Social Process at Goldsmiths. He is the author of The Theatre of Production: Philosophy and Individuation Between Kant and Deleuze (Palgrave, 2005), translator of Alain Badiou’s The Century (Polity, 2006) and Handbook of Inaesthetics (Stanford, 2005), and co-editor of Alain Badiou’s Theoretical Writings (Continuum, 2004) and On Beckett (Clinamen, 2003). He is the author of articles on Schelling, Deleuze, Simondon and Badiou, and an editor of the journal Historical Materialism. He is currently writing a book on the political and philosophical genealogy of the concept of fanaticism.
